In HsM the digital equivalent of physically mounting or demounting a device is referred to as registering or unregistering the device. Just as in the physical world, registering a device in HsM associates the digital twin of a device with a specific location in a customer's location tree and establishes ownership. Conversely, unregistering a device removes its association with the location and releases its ownership.
Some data in HsM (e.g. device documents) is stored related to the registration of a device at a specific location, i.e. when the device is unregistered or moved this data may be altered or lost.
