Ending the association of a device with a specific location in the location tree of a customer is called unregistering a device.
Unregistering also revokes the digital ownership of that device from the formerly owning customer.
To unregister a device the accessing user must have the <%PC EDIT_DEVICES_COMPETENCECLASS%> permission for the competence class that is associated with the device's device type AND you must have UNREGISTER_DEVICES permission
Note: Unregistering a device will delete or modify data attached to the device ownership. E.g. device service requests for a device that is being unregistered are canceled or deleted (depending on their current status), device documents will be deleted, etc. |
If a compound device is unregistered then the link to the compound member is kept but both devices are unregistered.
If a device system is unregistered, then all the links to system members deleted and members are unregistered. As device systems cannot be identified a device system cannot be registered again.
