Filtering for a subset of devices managed in the Client Service is a functionality that is needed in many places in HsM. When executed, device filters apply a filter expression to a base set of devices and produce a result-set of devices. E.g. a device filter can be used to filter the registered devices of a specific customer for those devices that have been registered in the current year.
